The basal foliage is attractive all season if moisture is consistent-this isnt the most drought-tolerant of perennials. This cultivar was originally named ‘Tim’s Tangerine’ and is still sold by some nurseries under that name. Some sporadic additional bloom may occur in late summer leading to a more substantial rebloom in early fall. Upward and outward facing, orange-peach flowers with overlapping petals bloom in branched sprays which rise above the foliage mound to 30” tall in a lengthy mid-spring to mid-summer bloom. Foliage is evergreen to semi-evergreen in warm winter climates. In full bloom, the plants measure a whopping 30 tall. The deep green, fuzzy foliage forms a compact mound that measures about 14 tall. Flower production is up to 5 times that of the normal genus. Maintenance Notes: This fast-growing perennial features fuzzy green foliage that stands up to 14 inches tall with the flower spikes reaching up to 30 inches tall and spread up to 18 inches wide. Plant in full sun in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Although its stems can reach up to 90 centimetres in height, it is self-supporting and does not need staking. Since it is totally sterile, it just kept right on blooming from late spring through the heat of summer. Geum ‘Totally Tangerine’ is easy to grow and provides a beautiful display of flowers from May to October. Plants typically form a basal foliage mound to 14” tall consisting of deltoid, tomentose, rough-textured, medium green leaves (to 2 3/8” long and 3” wide) with biserrate margins.
